Luis Gutierrez Architects, commissioned by the Puerto Rico Infrastructure Financing Authority, prepared an assessment of the existing conditions of the Palacio de Santa Catalina, better known as La Fortaleza, official residence of the Governor of Puerto Rico.
The study was focused on the roof area, parapets and cornices. After various site visits, documentation was composed of digital photography and as-built drawings.
In addition to the architectural evaluation, the firm gathered a group of professionals in mechanical and electrical engineering to evaluate different systems components as the air conditioning units and ducts located on the roof. After addressing all requirements, the team then organized a final report which contained a summary of recommendations along with a set of drawings, for the restoration and improvements scope of work.
